1098 Tax Forms – 2025-First Mortgage
As we approach tax season, we want to provide helpful information about your 1098 Mortgage Interest Statement and who will be issuing it for your loan.
If your loan was transferred to PHH for servicing:
PHH will be responsible for sending your 1098 statement for any interest that was paid on the loan.
If Magnolia Mortgage Servicing collected a payment before your loan transferred:
Magnolia will issue a 1098 for interest collected during the period we serviced your loan. This applies to loans in interim servicing where at least one payment was received by Magnolia.
If your loan closed under a lender name other than Magnolia:
The company that funded or closed the loan under their name is required to send the 1098 for any interest they collected.
